The other day, my painting teacher invited me to a ‘plein-air’ painting field trip in Lipa along with the senior artists in her painting group. Besides seeing different kinds of animals I’ve never seen up close (ponies, giant turtles, etc), shooting bottlecaps with the boys-I got to meet some of the painters I really admired. Since I’ve only started painting end of last year, I felt like a noob/outsider working around the rest of the painters there (they’ve all had their own solo shows)-I don’t know why she invited me at all. Can you believe they finished around 1-2 paintings during the day? My painting on the other hand is still under construction. In any case, it was fun (and a privilege) watching them at work.
